Resolving Duplicate Rows When Bulk Uploading a Schedule Plan

Modified on Thu, 27 Feb at 2:48 PM

Question: Why does my bulk upload create duplicate rows for each item in the Fluid Gantt?

Answer:

Duplicate rows occur because the schedule file being uploaded does not contain task IDs or GUIDs. When task IDs are missing, the system treats each upload as new tasks rather than updating existing ones, resulting in duplication.

How to Fix This Issue:

  1. Download the Bulk Edit File

    • Go to the schedule and download the bulk edit file to ensure you are working with the latest task data.

  2. Identify and Remove Duplicates

    • Open the file and locate the "DeleteRecord" column.

    • Mark "Yes" for rows that need to be deleted (the duplicate tasks).

    • Save the file.

  3. Re-upload Using Bulk Edit

    • Upload the modified bulk edit file back into the schedule.
    • The system will remove the marked duplicate rows and update the existing schedule correctly.

Preventing Future Duplicates:

Always download a fresh bulk edit file before making changes. This ensures task IDs are included and allows updates to be applied without creating duplicates. Additionally, new tasks can be added to the downloaded file before uploading it back.
