How to Export Timesheet Data

Exporting timesheet data allows administrators and managers to analyse time entries across projects and teams, ensuring accurate resource tracking, financial reporting, and compliance monitoring. These exports provide visibility into submitted, approved, and pending timesheets, helping organisations manage workloads and project costs effectively.


Fluid provides two methods for exporting timesheet data:

  1. Weekly Timesheet Exports – Download timesheet data for a specific week.

  2. Custom Date Range Exports – Extract data for a defined period to support broader analysis.


This article outlines the steps to export timesheet data efficiently.




Exporting Weekly Timesheet Data

To generate a report of all timesheets for a specific week:

  1. Navigate to the Timesheet Administration page.

  2. Locate the Timesheet Compliance section.

  3. Select the desired week.

  4. Click the Excel export icon to download the report.



This report provides insights into timesheet completion rates, helping managers track resource productivity and submission adherence.




Exporting Timesheet Data for a Custom Date Range

For broader analysis, Fluid allows exporting timesheet data over a selected period:

  1. Go to the Timesheet Administration page.

  2. Click on Tools in the left-hand navigation menu.



  1. Select Export to Excel and choose Timesheets.




  1. In the dialog box, define the start and end dates for the report.



  1. Choose to either Download the report immediately or have it Emailed to you.




Understanding the Timesheet Data Export

The exported report includes key details such as:

  • Resource Name – Identifies the individual who submitted the timesheet.

  • Timesheet Week – Specifies the reporting period.

  • Project Name – Lists the projects against which time was logged.

  • Task Name – Provides details on specific activities recorded.

  • Hours Logged – Displays the number of hours recorded per day.

  • Timesheet Status – Indicates the current approval status (e.g., Submitted, Approved, Amended).

  • Approver Name – Specifies who reviewed and approved the timesheet.
