The fiscal year is a 12-month period used for accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. It defines how financial data is structured and reported across projects, ensuring alignment with corporate planning and regulatory requirements. While some organisations follow the calendar year (January to December), others may operate on a different cycle, such as April to March or August to July, depending on industry standards or regional financial regulations.
Setting up the fiscal year correctly is essential for accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. It ensures that project financials are recorded within the appropriate reporting periods, preventing discrepancies in year-end financial reviews and compliance reports.
By default, the fiscal year in Fluid is set to align with the calendar year. If your organisation follows a different fiscal cycle, please contact your account manager to request a change to your fiscal year settings.
