How to customise charts on the Resource Dashboard

Modified on Wed, 16 Aug, 2023 at 12:27 PM

Creating customisable charts on your resource dashboard provides an interactive display of your data, granting you the flexibility to decide which resource property the chart should depict and the type of graph it should be displayed in, be it a pie chart, bar chart, or column chart.

This article will provide the steps on how to customise the charts based on your resource dashboard data.

Navigate to and access the resource dashboard

Start off by navigating to the resource dashboard section by selecting the Other Dashboards option from the project dashboard page.

Upon selecting the option, the dialog will open for you to access the Resource Dashboard section/tab and select the Resource Capacity Dashboard with Breakdown option.

Once the dashboard is selected, the current filtered data will be displayed.

Customise and configure the charts

With the current dashboard displayed, you can review the current charts and begin to customise the data shown by clicking on the chart settings option (settings icon) to display all the chart and resource data options.

Once the dialog opens there will be 2 options presented, namely:

  • Chart Type: select from the 3 different charts (Pie, Bar & Column).
  • Chart Data Series: select from the resource filter data, this includes resource custom properties (Option & MultiOption data types).

From the list of options, you can customise which chart to display the selected resource data. In the example below, the chart is customised to reflect the resource field "Role" data as a chart type "Bar".

As the options are selected, click on Done to save the new customised data. The new chart then displays the bar graph with the resource role data.
